Kathryn Kerr BA Hons Sport Science
Cert CBS (College Bowen Studies)

After gaining a degree in Sports Science in 1995 I worked for many years in the sports and fitness industry, predominantly as an advisor and trainer for a luxury exercise equipment company. In 2005 I decided to go back to university in Cornwall to study a passion of mine - gardening and garden design.  Upon graduation I worked in many prestigious gardens, including Trebah (Cornwall), and Highgrove House garden for HRH the Price of Wales.

I suffered for years with a lower back problem which stemmed from a slipped disc while competing in sport at University.  Then, one morning I woke up one morning with a frozen shoulder which was extremely painful and restricted my arm movement drastically.  Over the next year and a half I visited a private physio and had a steriod injection but nothing helped and things seemed to be getting worse.  I was booked in for an operation, but then a friend recommended Bowen.  I was extremely sceptical but decided to give it a try, after paying £40 a time for 30 mins physio for several months £35 sounded suspiciously reasonable. However, that was one of the best decisions I ever made!  After just one session my shoulder movement was 80% better and I could sleep without pain for the first time in months.  Also, my sleep walking and night terrors which I have suffered with since childhood just ceased. On my second treatement it was noted that my hips were out of aligment due to bad standing posture and sitting with my legs crossed. This would have been a contributing factor to both my back and shoulder problems as my body was out of balance.  After three sesions my shoulder pain had ceased, full movement was restored and I felt better, more relaxed, balanced and supple than I had in years, perhaps ever and I had the most amazing feeling of well-being.

It was then that I decided to train to be a Bowen practitioner with the College of Bowen Studies and it has been an amazing journey.  It is the most rewarding experience to be able to help people to feel better, whether it be aches and pains in shoulders, backs, hips and knees to migraines, stress and sleep problems.  I have regular patients with Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia and Cancer.  It helps them to manage their symptoms and pain levels, and gives them valuable time to switch off, relax and unwind.

Most clients see improvement within one or two sessions.  Some have seen their symptoms resolve immediately, others may need several treatments.  Every body is different and responds in their own way to treatment.

I currently offer a mobile Bowen service and will visit you in your home, allowing you to relax completely after your treatment with no need to drive.

Iam fully insured and am a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.
